Zoë’s Place is the UK’s only baby-specific hospice, which operates in Coventry, Middlesbrough and Liverpool. We raised £493 from the sale of showroom items to staff, along with a further £2,149.20 through our Give As You Earn Scheme.
Beth Hill from Zoë’s Place said: “We are so thankful that Kebbell has chosen to support our charity. It means the world to all the staff and the families here at Zoë’s Place. The money they have donated helps us deliver care, therapies, play and counselling to those who require it, in the local area and beyond. Without their kind donations, we simply would not be able to offer the services we deliver.”
Andrea Fawell, our Sales and Marketing Director, says: “We mostly chose our charities because we have personal connections or because they were nominated by our staff as causes that are particularly close to their hearts. Zoë’s Place was chosen by our staff in the north, whilst staff in the south raised £1,910.40 through the Give As You Earn Scheme for Wycombe Homeless Connection as an optional donation made directly from their salary each month.”
Heather Stanley from Wycombe Homeless Connection said: “Kebbell’s donation has been helping us keep our support centre open in a time where we have, sadly, been serving more people than ever who are rough sleeping. We help people who are sofa-surfing, in unsafe accommodation, sleeping rough, or worried about losing their homes. They get a warm welcome, refreshments and importantly, tailored support and help from our team to work out their options and hopefully get them into either emergency or more long-term accommodation as soon as possible. During the heatwave in July, we were able to use donations to buy water, sunscreen, wet wipes and other items that our clients needed and went on extra outreach walks.”
We are in our third year of supporting the excellent work Andy Mouncey does through his community interest company Run For Your Life. We make a £500 monthly charitable donation to the not-for-profit company that provides specialist support to people on both sides of the bars in the criminal justice system.
Andrea Fawell has worked with Andy for five years as her professional development coach and mentor, as well as being her endurance sport trainer. Andrea credit’s Andy’s highly effective skills and techniques with getting her ready for her toughest challenge yet, an expedition to the North Pole in 2023.
Andy says: “My sincere thanks go to Nick, Andrea and Tom and all the team at Kebbell for their continued support. With the vast majority of persons in the criminal justice system at some point being released into the community, our work focuses on helping them return to their communities as a force for good.”
We have also recently sponsored the Bishop Monkton 10k run to raise funds for new outdoor play equipment for Bishop Monkton’s Primary school, as well as donating £2,000 to improve the Iver Heath Scout Group’s hut and toilets. We rented The Scout Hut during the summer months, when it was not needed by the Scouts, and used it for storing the show home furniture that was then ultimately auctioned off to raise funds for our chosen charities.
